Nothing iVentured, nothing gained

The Witness

A first for South Africa, businessperson Steve Crory (pictured) has launched a card for visitors to Durban that will give them access to key attractions offered by tourism hots pots. Smartvisit Solutions (Africa) and iVenture Card International are the partners behind the iVenture Card ‘See Durban Attraction Pass’. This iVenture Card is based on an international model used by cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong. Crory, the CEO of Smartvisit Solutions, explained: ‘This pass not only aims to expose more of what Durban has to offer, but due to the significant savings that the pass holder will experience, will also encourage tourists to visit more attractions.’ Durban Tourism marketing manager Dumi Mbatha welcomed the card, which is backed by Durban Tourism. She is optimistic that it will boost visitor numbers. There are 18 key tourism attractions that iVenture Card users can visit, including the Moses Mabhida Stadium, uShaka Marine World, KZN Sharks Board, Mini Town, Phezula Safari Park and Ocean Ventures. ‘We are continuously working to form new partnerships and improve the iVenture Card offerings – for example we are currently in negotiations with Computicket, the International Convention Centre and People Mover,’ said Crory.
